Brian De Palma is the son of a surgeon. He studied physics but at the same time felt his dedication for the movies and made some short films. After seven independent productions he had his first success with Sisters (1973) and his voyeuristic style. Brian De Palma and Darnell where married from 11 October 1995 until 18 April 1997 and toghter they have one child, Willa’s halfsister Piper. Although Brian and Willa’s mother are divorced Willa and Brian still keep in touch and Willa did a voice for the game of his movie Scarface and Brian invited Willa to the premiere of The Black Dahlia. Brian also has a daughter with Gale Ann Hurd (Lolita). Gale and Brian are divorced. From 1979 until 1983 Brian De Palma was married with Nancy Allen.
